Robert Couturier is born in 1905 in Angoulème, in France.
He is the pupil of Maillol. Prize-winner of the American Foundation " for the thought and the French art ".
He is  Blumenthal Prize in 1930 and Wildenstein Prize in 1966.
Couturier exhibit in numerous museums and he is present in numerous private collections.
He was a professor at the National School of the Fine art of Paris.
Robert Couturier interprets very freely the human with a preference for the woman. His style is personal, sensual and linear.
His sculptures seek the touch, he is allways searching for the expressiveness of the shape. The spaces dominate on the heights, they are a part of the work. Robert Couturier said that " the shape has to assimilate the space ".
Today Mister Robert Couturier is 102-year-old and lives in France. His work is major and important for the history of the modern sculpture.
